Leaves, Lighthouses, and Lobsters

For our fall vacation Mrs. and I took a trip to Kennebunkport, Maine. Mrs. really wanted to go up in the fall to see the many colored leaves in New England. Well, it's been an unseasonably warm October and our first day in Maine was 70 degrees, which was great, but instead of leaves in red, orange, and yellow, most of the trees were still green. Oh well. Of course we still saw some fall leaves:

On our second day we were signed up to go on a whale watch, but the morning of we received a call from the tour company saying the whale watch was cancelled. They had said on their website that the tour was sometimes cancelled if they didn't have enough people sign up, but we had been pretty excited about going out on the ocean and searching for Moby Dick so this was a bit of a bummer. So instead of seeing whales jump on our boat, our innkeeper suggested that we drive around and visit a few lighthouses in the area. Here's a pic we took of the Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth:

And what would a trip to Maine be without some lobster? I actually had lobster at five of my six meals in Maine and even got Mrs. to try some (she’s not a big shellfish fan). This guy provided a delicious dinner one night:
