Christmas Tidbits

- This year the Christmas Eve mass we attended had the children’s choir. Why do churches have these? No one wants to listen to these kids scream except for their parents. I asked my brother at one point if he would rather be here listening to this or in Iraq? He said it was a tough call.

- I am half Polish. We spend Christmas day with the Polish side of my family. Christmas dinner consists of the following: numerous types of bread, chicken, kielbasa, ham, and potato salad. Meat and carb mania. This year the horseradish my aunt made was so strong, the grown men were brought to tears so of course we had a horseradish cannoli showdown. What is a horseradish cannoli? Ham rolled long ways into a cannoli shape and then filled with horseradish. My 21 year old girl cousin won. She didn’t even bat an eye when she scarfed hers down. Everyone was speechless. Quite a feat for our family.

- The same side of the family had a Yankee swap with the adults giving As Seen on TV gifts worth $20 or less. People grumbled about this theme but it turned out to be a ton of fun. Mr. and I are now the proud owners of the Total Pillow, a giant cupcake cake mold, those buttons to increase your waist size on your pants, and these clippers that have 5 different uses.
